Back Home

We are back home here in Washington. Our snow is melting(yay!) and the driveway is very muddy(messy!). It has been mostly sunny and fairly warm, it is starting to feel like spring. We are both itching to get outside and work on getting the garden ready. I am starting seeds indoors to transplant later, hopefully they will grow. I was surprised to find my planter of lettuce still alive after three weeks of not being watered while we were in California!

While in California we went over to the coast with my family and spent the afternoon walking on the beach and out to the point.

The Project

The main reason we came down to California was because Andrew has nott had any work for awhile and my dad wanted the laundry room remodeled. Andrew and Jonathan worked together on it. They tore out walls and put up new ones, Put up the sheet rock, and textured, and put in a new floor. When it was time to paint Mom, Melissa and I all got involved.

Birthdays

Andrew and I have been down in California for the last couple weeks. We came down to do a remodeling job for my dad. We arrived on my mom's birthday and my dad and Melissa share a birthday the following week. It was special to be able to celebrate with them. Here are a few birthday pictures.

Valentine's

Andrew and I had a very special Valentine's Day together. We had a nice dinner and dessert and watched a movie together.

We had fun building a snowman the other day. It was the first time that the snow was just right since we've been home.

Winter Activities

I know it has been a long time since I have posted even though we have been home for quite awhile now,but it is hard to have enough time while at the library. We have been using up our internet time reseaching gardening, raising livestock, fruit trees and farming ideas. We have also been reading tons of books that we have checked out. It has been keeping us busy!
Besides all our studying we have been enjoying having a few people over for dinner, playing games, enjoying the lovely snow, and having fun with our new cat.

One night the power went out and we enjoyed playing cribbage by candle and lamplight.

Newlywed Retreat

On our way home from California we attended a weekend newlywed retreat. It was a lot of fun. There was good speaking, fun activities, delicious food, and great fellowship. Our good friends Daniel and Jenny were also there, so it was fun to visit with them. It was a small event with only seven couples total.
