David's Dumptruck
It is so great that David loves to play outside. He will play with his truck, the chickens and anything else interesting out there for hours. When we are out there working in the garden it is works out quite well to have him entertaining himself within sight of us.

Our Hoophouse
We are so excited to have a hoophouse this year for growing vegetables in! We put it up about ten days ago. As you can see from the pictures there was still quite a bit of snow left then, now it is mostly gone. We have some lettuce plants and Chinese cabbage plants growing in there now. Later in the spring we will be putting in tomatoes and cucumbers. We think having the hoophouse will be a big advantage to us this year.

Grandma Kay
November 11, 1927 - February 19, 2011
My Grandmother passed away a few weeks ago. She was my grandmother on my Dad's side. We were able to fly down to California for the funeral. I was so glad we were able to come. I have many special memories of time spent with Grandma. Here are a few photos of her throughout my life.

Thanksgiving 2010. I was so glad we had a chance to see Grandma last Thanksgiving while in California. I haven't had the chance to see my grandparents as often since getting married, so it was special to see her and to get to introduce David to her.

Garlic Is Yummy!
David loves some foods that seem strange for children to like. He loves garlic cloves raw! He likes anything pickled; beets, green beans, cucumbers, even pepperoncinis! He likes sauerkraut.
Andrew got a book all about garlic from the library. It has lots of beautiful photographs of garlic in it. David likes to look at it with Andrew. He points at all the pictures and says Mmmmm.

On the Phone
David has really started enjoying the phone lately. He always liked pushing the buttons, but now he holds it up to his ear and pretends to talk. When Grandma is on the phone he doesn't really say anything just listens. He just started bringing his books over to show Grandma over the phone though! It is quite cute to see him holding his book up to the phone. I will have to try to get a picture of that soon.
