Strawberries and Rhubarb

Some sweet friends gave us a whole bunch of strawberry starts and also some rhubarb. We planted three rows of strawberries. That kept us busy this last weekend! It has been so fun planting all these things in our garden. We are looking forward to lots of delicious jam and pies! We also bought an apple and a prune tree awhile ago and just picked them up on Saturday.

Rose

This is the rose Andrew brought me when he came home from work Friday evening.

Animal Visitors

This week we are taking care of Caleb's horse and Aleah's baby goat, while Andrew's family are traveling.
It has been fun having a few more animals around.

Working on the Fence

Andrew's brother Caleb has been over several times helping us with getting the fence up. He also set up an area to keep his horse for the week while he is camping.

The garden now has fencing all the way around it, although it is not quite finished. Hopefully it will keep the deer out.

Evening Walk

These photos were taken one evening while we were walking out in the pasture. The barn is across the road from our place.

Raspberries

A week ago we got several raspberry starts. Andrew and I had fun planting them together. He did most of the planting and I took pictures:)

Springtime in California

New oak leaves in the sunlight.

Tizzy and one of her many toys.

Blue-podded pea flowers.

The peas are almost ready to eat and look more purple than blue.

Hello from the goat herd: Mandolin, Willow, Tambourine and Ukulele.

Ukulele, the newest baby doe.

We give thanks to You. O God, we give thanks!
For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.

Growing Baby

Here is a picture for those who have been asking for it. This is me and my growing belly.

Early Gardening

My cabbage and broccoli starts are doing very well. They like the greenhouse that Andrew made out of the stove. The garden fence is coming along. We made some beds and I planted some early cool weather seeds out yesterday. Today we picked up some mulch and got some raspberry plants. We are enjoying the spring weather and looking forward to the harvest.
